Bon Voyage, Al

Today was the last day of JackTV’s Laffabox Road show, which Allan Manalo, Alex Calleja, Victor Anastacio, and I performed in. It’s also the last performance of Allan in the Philippines probably for the year. Yes, he is leaving us and going back to San Francisco for a while to make some cash money through various means, which may or may not include gay prostitution. He is a Fil-Am OFW.

For the last couple of years, Al has played a big role in mentoring the new comics here in the Philippines and is my co-founder of the Comedy Cartel. A lot of these kids looked up to him because of his experience and most of his jokes are older than any of these new guys. But seriously, Al is probably one of the best comedy mentors I’ve seen that doesn’t wear a pony tail and suit. Now, the reigns are passed back to me again, but thankfully I have some talented people to help me lead the way.

Al, we hope to see you back soon. Don’t take too long or we’ll start stealing your jokes, just like Carlos Mencia. Good luck and make your millions so you can come back and open a comedy club out here with us. And you better have new jokes.
