Premonition
Based on the poster, I thought this was going to be a cheesy horror flick but to my surprise, it was more of a love story without the cheese. Sandra Bullock and Julian McMahon of Nip Tuck play husband and wife in this bizarre future-present-future-present movie.
In this one, Sandra Bullock, whose acting has evolved from the cute panicky damsel in distress to more serious roles, wakes up a few days into the future where her husband dies in a car accident involving a truck (what is it with Sandra Bullock and fast moving vehicles). She’s devastated but when she sleeps again and wakes up the next day, she’s back in the present day where he is still alive. Everytime she wakes up, she’s in a different time, but all the time people around her think she’s crazy. What causes this anomaly in the spacetime fabric is not revealed, but I have a feeling it has something to do with either the new house they moved into or the script.
As the wife desperately tries to change the future, she realizes, like most time travel movies, her attempts are what causes the future to happen. To make things more complicated, a third party becomes involved but I’m not going to spoil it for you. It’s actually worth watching.
Rating: Sandra Bullock, we forgive you for Judge Dread and Miss Congeniality 2.
